RAI Bakery

The Heaven sweetshop project was a challenge because of the small place where the name and function had to be found in the design as well. The concept started from the use of organic shapes, specific to the range of products that will be exhibited, but also to our design style, which highlights a space easily associated with the idea of “sweet”. The main space, the counter area, welcomes in the foreground with a glazed display frame and stands out by contrasting the three dominant materials, both chromatically and tactilely. The display behind the counter stands out through the semi-curved cutouts in natural brass on the pink marble background. The secondary area of access and circulation, although treated simply, directs a singular object, the mirror, which preserves the leitmotif of curved shapes. And in the bathroom area, the same organic accent is kept, using here instead the complementary chromaticity of the main space. The space enjoys natural light from the glazed area of the access, but also from the glazed arch in the gangway of the historical monument and the proposed artificial light defines the apparently small space, placing the users in an atmosphere of a divine metaphor.
